on. Southwest and Mexico share a strong and unique relationship rooted in culture, economy, workforce, art, cuisine, and tourism. Despite decades of successful initiatives—economic and trade partnerships, student exchanges, cultural programs, and professional collaborations—our binational relationship faces new challenges due to mounting negative federal policies and rhetoric in the U.S. MAPA is a bold response to these challenges: uniting leaders, fostering trust, and renewing our commitment to a stronger, people-centered U.S.–Mexico bond.

On November 20th, MAPA hosted a productive Listening Session in Chicago, bringing together more than 30 elected officials and leaders from the nonprofit, private, labor, and community sectors. Together, we refined MAPA’s mission and vision and discussed the priorities we should advance as an emerging binational organization working to strengthen the U.S.–Mexico relationship.

Our President and Co-Founder, Arturo Carmona, shared MAPA’s strategic outlook including our focus and our short- and long-term goals.

We are deeply grateful to our generous hosts, Senator Omar Aquino and Alderman Michael Rodriguez, for welcoming us and creating space for meaningful conversation.
