APT. 512 A Latin@ artivist collective based in Chicago. APT. 512 aims to add to the conversation of Latinidad with a very particular voice.

APT. 512 Collective

APT. 512 (pronounced apartamento cinco doce) is the self given name of an artist group based in Chicago's south side. The collective was formed by Gabriela Ibarra, Carlos Ramirez, and Gilberto Sandoval with the intention of creating artwork through the lens of 1st and 2nd generation Mexican@s raised in the Unites States. Although the three artist focus on varying disciplines,

their respective artistic practices have one major thing in common: the exploration of lived experiences as a means of commenting on societal issues. A voice of young Mexicanxs seeking to define their identity through self assertion and decolonization.
