Meanwhile in Paris, Diana Gini, our Chief Growth Officer, presented her new book GAME ON.

Two cities, one evening, and the same idea: a community starts when people show up for each other.

The Paris evening was about literature. GAME ON is the first independent author project under UnpublishedRomania, our Diaspora Culture Platform. UnpublishedRomania helps Romanian authors from around the world bring their unpublished creations to light.

Independent authors matter because many talented creators never get published. The reasons are usually a lack of funds, editorial know-how, guidance, or simply the fear of rejection. Every manuscript left in a drawer is a piece of Romanian culture that risks being lost.

Congratulations to Diana for her drive to create and for turning her story into a book that gets people talking. We hope it inspires more authors to take the next step. 📚

Our team is reunited in Bucharest!

First stop: How to Web, Eastern Europe’s leading startup and technology conference.

It’s been a great opportunity to reconnect with people from across the startup and tech ecosystem, exchange ideas, learn from some of the region’s most ambitious founders and innovators, and, of course, have plenty of conversations about what’s next.

But that’s not all we came to Bucharest for. Tomorrow, we’re bringing everyone together again for the very first Friends of RUF event.

One day focused on startups, technology and innovation. The next on community, collaboration and building something that lasts.

Wish us luck for tomorrow!

We’re excited to share that The Ultra Runner, the film inspired by the extraordinary story of Romanian ultrarunner Tibi Ușeriu, will have its U.S. premiere at the Chicago International Film Festival — North America’s longest-running film festival.

Chicago holds a special place in our story. It’s home to a vibrant Romanian diaspora community and to many meaningful connections that have shaped our work over the years — including the partnership between the Romanian United Foundation and the team behind Tășuleasa Social.

Now, we’re thrilled to see Tibi’s story return to the city and be shared with the Romanian community there.

Alin Ușeriu, President of Tășuleasa Social, will join the director in Chicago for the screenings on October 19 and 20 at AMC NEWCITY 14. More info about the tickets on the festival's website.

To our friends in Chicago: we hope to see you there. 🧡

Reporting live from RePatriot Summit 2026 in Bucharest.

The summit is bringing together Romanian entrepreneurs, leaders, and diaspora voices from around the world, and our GlobalRomania team is here to be part of the conversations.

Representing us at the summit: Aldina Gheorghe, Cristian Luput, Claudia Petrache, Ana Barte, and Bianca Radu.

This is exactly the kind of space GlobalRomania exists for: bringing Romanians together, wherever they live, and turning shared identity into real collaboration, projects, and opportunities.

After bringing the Romanian community together in Chicago, we’re carrying that momentum forward, creating more space for conversation, connection and collaboration.

At the GlobalRomania Community Summit in Chicago, our Partnerships & Institutional Liaison, Aldina Gheorghe, announced for the first time one of our next community events: Friends of RUF.

The first chapter of this new story will take place in Bucharest. Through this event, we aim to bring together our Angels, supporters, partners, volunteers and city ambassadors who contribute to the work we’re building across borders.

This gathering is an opportunity to put faces and stories to that community, introduce people to the mission behind RUF and GlobalRomania, and share more about the projects and opportunities taking shape across our network.

A century after her historic journey across North America, the inauguration of "Queen Marie of Romania Corner" in New York pays tribute to one of Romania's most remarkable ambassadors.

In 1926, Queen Marie embarked on a 44-day tour of the United States and Canada, drawing unprecedented crowds and media attention. She met with leaders, engaged with local communities, connected with members of the Romanian diaspora, and promoted Romania's image on the international stage.

More than a royal visit, the tour was an exercise in diplomacy, helping strengthen Romania's presence abroad in the years following World War I. Through her charisma, vision, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life, Queen Marie succeeded in what she later described as "putting Romania on the map."

One hundred years later, her legacy of cultural dialogue, international friendship, and proud representation of Romania continues to inspire.
