Greektown is a dining, nightlife and cultural district located on the Near West Side of Chicago where old World traditions dominate in the many neighborhood establishments and modern artworks brighten the main street. Greektown Special Service Area (SSA) #16 was established in 1996 to support business activity on Halsted St. SSA-funded projects typically include but are not limited to: public way

maintenance and beautification; district marketing and advertising; business retention/attraction, special events and promotional activities; auto and bike transit; security; façade improvements; and other commercial and economic development initiatives. Greektown is managed by West Central Association.

If you’ve spotted a few larger than life additions along Halsted Street, you’re getting an early look at We the People: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Beauty in Greektown Chicago.

The sculptures are beginning to arrive ahead of our official June 9 unveiling, when 40 original works inspired by America’s 250th anniversary will transform the neighborhood into an open air gallery 🇬🇷

Memorial Day weekend may be over, but the celebration of American history, culture, and creativity is just getting started with this year’s outdoor art installation, We the People: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Beauty in Greektown Chicago.

Featuring 40 original works inspired by America’s 250th anniversary, the exhibit will bring together art, history, and culture throughout the neighborhood. From striking sculptures lining Halsted Street to original canvas works displayed inside local businesses, each piece invites visitors to experience Greektown Chicago in a new way.

Join us for the public ribbon cutting on Tuesday, June 9, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Elysian Field. As we celebrate 250 years of freedom and creativity, we look forward to honoring the artists, stories, and shared experiences that continue to shape our neighborhood and city! 💙
