Dr. Jane Goodall has long been an inspiration to both my wife, Wendy, and me. Her courage, intellect, and unwavering commitment to the natural world have left a profound mark on generations around the world.

What makes Dr. Goodall truly extraordinary is that she has spent her life advocating for the protection of nature, reminding us that biodiversity is essential to our survival, and teaching the next generation why it must be respected and preserved. Through her work with young people across the globe, she has instilled in millions the conviction that every individual can make a difference.

Dr. Jane Goodall inspired generations of conservationists and scientists. Through her pioneering work and her singular voice, she championed not only chimpanzees but the protection of the natural world. Hands-on experience in the field is essential to advancing conservation science or projects. Here, Jane Goodall was the pioneer and a standard setter. We thank her for her research, her advocacy, her legacy, and her message of hope.

JUST RELEASED: PI’s update to the landmark Financing Nature report

PI’s new report warns that the global biodiversity financing gap has grown from $711 billion in 2020 to $942 billion annually. Despite rising awareness of nature’s biodiversity loss, nature is vanishing at unprecedented rates: up to one-half of the planet’s species face extinction by the middle of this century.

The report includes a major recommendation to integrate climate and biodiversity protection rather than pursuing them in silos, which is leading to needless destruction of nature.

But there is hope. Learn more about the biodiversity crisis and the meaningful progress that is possible with smart policy and innovative financial mechanisms: https://www.paulsoninstitute.org/conservation/financingnature2025/

Once a vibrant hub for entrepreneurial activity, China’s startup scene is now facing significant challenges as VC funding drops to its lowest levels in years. The decline in capital investment is stalling the creation of new businesses, affecting employment, and slowing the pace of technological innovation.
