TREAD -The Rock Enterprises and Development Corp. T.R.E.A.D. is dedicated to aiding in the equipping of low income individuals and families with assis

Our Beginning
The founding of the Rock Enterprises and Development Corporation (T.R.E.A.D.) was an immediate response to the closing of several shelters particularly on the Southside of Chicago and the growing need for shelters for women with children in the West Pullman and Roseland communities. The Big Picture

The goal of T.R.E.A.D. is to open a 100-bed Residential Life Skills Center for women with children where they will receive mental, physical and emotional restoration. The outcome of this housing program will be to prepare the women for employment, and ideally a home of their own. This housing facility will provide resources including, but not limited to: Domestic Violence Support Groups, Job And Skills Training & Education Programs, Entrepreneurial Programs, Workforce Development, Home Ownership Programs, etc. The fastest way for this to happen would be through generous donations from people who believe in our mission and are moved to help women and children who so desperately need it.
