Whether you attended, donated, or supported another way, this Gallery Night would not have been the same without you! We are thrilled to have highlighted student voices, shared the work of our students and Teaching Artists, and so much more.

In total, we raised over $174,000 to help us continue educating and inspiring children in Chicago-area hospitals!

Meet Walter Li (they/them), recipient of the 2026 Katie Kurcz Memorial Fund Award! Walter’s new Zine Library project is bringing Chicago’s vibrant DIY art culture directly to young patients across three major hospitals.

What a fantastic Sunday spent at the American Lung Force Walk on September 13th! 🌤️✨ We had the absolute best time tabling, connecting with everyone, and supporting such an important cause in our community.

A few favorite moments from the day:
- Special Multiverse Guests: Spider-Man and Gwen stopped by our table to read a Spider-Man zine! 🕷️📚
- Perfect Fall Weather: Blue skies, warm sun, and crisp breezes made for an incredible walk.
- Pin Galore: So many of you walked away with shiny new pins to add to your jackets and bags! 📍✨

Huge thanks to the amazing community members who invited us to participate in this meaningful event. We’re so grateful to be part of such a passionate, supportive network! 💙

☀️ End-of-Summer Intern Spotlight!
As summer winds down, we want to take a moment to give a huge THANK YOU and shoutout to our incredible summer interns!

They’ve brought so much energy, creativity, and hard work to our team over the last few months, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everything they’ve accomplished.

🌟 Development & Communications
Faith is a Minnesota-born, Chicago-based journalist whose love for writing and the performing arts has grown into a passion for multimedia communications. A fourth-year studying Multimedia Journalism and Anthropology at Loyola University Chicago, Faith enjoys collaborating with local community members and platforming their unique stories.

Cherin Kim is a fiber artist based in Chicago, IL. Her textile portraits investigate archived memory as a vessel for identity construction through the reproduction of personal and public historical documents. Drawing on her upbringing as a Korean born and raised in Japan, her work examines how diasporic individuals form cultural identities in relation to fractured conceptions of “home.”

Cherin is a 2026 Luminarts Visual Arts Fellow and holds a BFA in Studio with a concentration in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition to working as a Development and Communications Intern at Snow City Arts, her focus is on making creative educational opportunities more accessible and promoting art-making as a tool for collective learning and exchange.

Faith and Cherin have been instrumental in telling our story, engaging our community, and planning for Gallery Night!

🌟 Programs
Hi, im Adelis (ah•dé•lis), a student born and raised in Chicago, and a proud first-gen Mexican American. When I’m not working or studying, I’m usually drawing, painting, playing volleyball with my friends, or hanging out with my little sister💟.

Miko Sprenkle is a Programs intern and recent graduate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His fibers work spans from tapestry weaving to fabric collage, and he has a passion for community care and arts education. In his free time, he loves to draw, watch figure skating, swim, and pet his cats.

Adelis and Miko have worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the ground to support our programs and make a direct impact on the people we serve.

To Faith, Cherin, Adelis, and Miko: Thank you for your dedication, fresh perspectives, and passion this season. We are so proud of the work you’ve done and can't wait to see all the amazing things you achieve next! 🚀✨

The first Wednesday of every month SCA’s Teaching Artists Bree and Patrick host “Name That Drawing” on Skylight TV at the Panda Center . Each show has 20 rounds, each round a teaching artist or a guest from the audience draws whatever they pull from the bucket. The drawings topics tend to be on theme for the time of the year. As they draw, the audience can call into the Panda Center and guess what they see. Once they make a correct guess, they get to pick a prize from the Panda Center’s wonderful prize cart. Yesterday, we had a special guest co-host the show, Adelis, our amazing high school intern from ‘ Art at Work program! We always have a blast hosting this show and brining art to Skylight TV and look forward to our September show : )
