Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE! Show solidarity and stay out of the stores while baristas are on ULP strike! Workers are fighting for living wages, fair schedules, respect on the job, and an end to union busting.

This is bittersweet. I’m glad Bovino is leaving Chicago, but the trauma and bs he’ll bring to another city is not a victory.

Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino has left Chicago for Charlotte, North Carolina, after two months of controversial enhanced immigration operations.

As a member of ICIRR’s Board, I’m thankful for JB’s vigilance in protecting our immigrant community in Chicago. Chicago is the Hometown of the American Labor and is a city of immigrants!

NEW CONTRACTS FOR THOUSANDS OF ESSENTIAL CHICAGOLAND AND STATE OF ILLINOIS LOCAL 1 SECURITY OFFICERS!!!

Today, Security Officers ratified TWO strong new contracts with HISTORIC wage increases, job security, and more respect on the job. For too long, contracts for these security officers had fallen short, but essential Local 1 member leaders changed that!

SECURITY NEEDS SECURITY!

Listening to Florida Surgeon Joseph Ladapo. Wow. I have never heard a person in a place of public trust absolutely fail in communicating the rationale for a major change in public policy. For those of you who agree with his position, which many don’t, he provided zero measurable evidence to justify eliminating school vaccine mandates (which already have certain exemptions built in). What’s scarier is that he admitted to doing zero research on impacts once rescinded in order to provide guidance Florida health institutions. Florida is becoming an experiment for harmful public policy.

Gilded Age Revisited

“May you live in interesting times.” An oft quoted cliché making light of society’s general or specific turmoil, I heard it frequently during the first Presidency of Donald Trump.
