Our Canaryville Lions family is coming together to support one of our own during an incredibly difficult time. We turn to friends and family in the community in the hopes of receiving help for the family.

Our dear friend Michell Kuesis-Qualls and family recently suffered the heartbreaking loss of her father. As they navigate this painful time, they are trying to bring him home from out of state so he can be laid to rest beside Michell’s mother, where he belongs.

Michell and her family have been such an important part of our Lions family over the years. Her children have proudly been part of our football and cheer programs, and Michell has always stepped up to help our organization however she could — from supporting our cheerleaders to helping organize events and being there for our team and community.

Now it’s our turn to be there for her.

A GoFundMe has been created, and raffles are also being held to help ease the financial burden on the family during this difficult time. Any donation, share, prayer, or support would mean the world to Michelle and her loved ones.
Please help us show the strength of the Canaryville Lions community by coming together for a family that has always given so much to others. 💙

We’re building something special here in Canaryville. We’re building a new team/staff that want to help shape the future for our program for our youth and community.

We’re looking for dedicated, reliable, and positive individuals to help coach our youth football team.

No experience is required — just a willingness to support, teach, and be a role model for our kids. Our program is about more than football — it’s about mentorship, leadership, and building confidence in our youth.

Saturday I attended a benefit for Joseph Pegausch. Joe is battling cancer. Joe also happens to be a Canaryville Lions quarterback back in the mid/late 90’s. He was the quarterback for one of our first teams. May have been our first year, I don’t remember which year but I do remember we didn’t win a game till our third year. One thing I do remember is that Joe Pegausch threw the first touchdown pass for the Canaryville Lions. We played our games in our practice jerseys. I figured it was appropriate to give Joe one of our new practice jerseys.

We are pleased to announce that our 2026 season will commence in July, providing ample time for preparation. 💪🏼🦁

In the lead-up to the season, we will be hosting multiple FREE conditioning camps for new and returning players, scheduled to take place on Saturdays at McInerney Park (45th & Halsted). 10am-12pm

The schedule and dates will be posted on all platforms.

We invite families to participate and encourage players to take advantage of this opportunity.
