"Have you ever been homeless? If you have then you probably appreciate that we actually care about the people we serve, it's not lip service, it's authentic."
Our brother Richard Dolce asked us that powerful question, and it cuts straight to the heart of why we do what we do. It’s a reminder that what happens every week on these streets isn't about optics or checking a box—it’s about recognizing the human dignity in every person we meet.
Since we started the Neighborly Deeds Initiative in 2018, you all have shown up with a level of sincerity that is rare to find. You don't just hand out meals or clothes; you offer your presence, your respect, and your heart. Looking at the work we do—whether we are prepping trays under the lights, handing out jackets in the cold, or standing together in front of the "Unity" mural it is clear that this mission is driven by genuine love for our neighbors.
To Our Dedicated Volunteers
I want to say a profound thank you for being the backbone of this foundation.
You are the proof: In a world of "lip service," your consistent presence since 2018 is the proof of our authenticity.
You are the light: You bring warmth to the darkest corners of our community, often late at night when the rest of the world has turned away.
You are the family: This work is heavy, but you carry it with a grace that inspires me every single day.
Thank you for caring enough to be real. Thank you for being the reason someone feels seen and valued tonight. You are truly special to us, and more importantly, you are vital to the people we serve.
With deep respect and gratitude,
Ojala Foundation
