Please be advised that our 10th Annual Gladstone Park Throwback Music Fest will be taking place on this Friday, September 11th with street and CTA closures beginning this Thursday, September 10th.

Dear Neighbor,
The Gladstone Park Chamber of Commerce is throwing their 8th Annual Throwback Music Fest on Friday, September 11, 2026, through Sunday, September 13, 2026. The event will take place on Milwaukee Avenue between Milwaukee Ave / Elston Ave triangle and Rosedale. In addition to the live music, food and retail vendors that will be on-site, we are excited to announce the addition of a family-friendly carnival this year, which will be enclosed by fencing, within the footprint of the festival for all 3 days. As one of the neighbors most affected, this letter details all street and parking lot closures related to the Fest, as well as communication avenues we have made available for your convenience.
Road Closures
Milwaukee Avenue will be closed from 4 a.m. on Thursday, September 10 through 5 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2026. The street will be closed at the Milwaukee Ave / Elston Ave split at the north end through Rosedale on the south end. Residents will be able to access their homes via Elston Avenue on the north or side streets on the south. However, unlike previous years, Peterson Ave. will be closed at Milwaukee due to the implementation of the carnival.
Recommended Detour
Northbound traffic – Traffic driving northbound on Milwaukee Avenue will be diverted at Austin Avenue, north onto Elston Avenue, then north/west back to Milwaukee Avenue. Residents will be able to access their neighborhood using the side streets east/west of Milwaukee Avenue.
Southbound traffic – Traffic driving southbound on Milwaukee Avenue will be diverted at Elston Avenue, southeast to Austin Avenue, then south back to Milwaukee Avenue. Residents will be able to access their neighborhood using Huntington Street.
Communication
We have established a website at http://www.throwbackmusicfest.com with up-to-date event information for more details. Please contact the Gladstone Park Chamber of Commerce for questions or to report your concerns at [email protected]. All regular parking regulations will be enforced throughout the neighborhood - i.e., Residential Parking Permit Streets will be only for residents with permits (and their guests with permits), Handicap Parking spots, Hydrants, Crosswalks, etc.
