Skyline Council of Landmarks Illinois Blue Island Walking Tour & Pub Crawl!

Saturday, October 11, 2025 🗓️12-4 p.m. 🍻🚶‍♀️

Join Skyline Council, Landmarks Illinois’ Young & Emerging Professionals Committee, for a neighborhood tour in south suburban Blue Island!
Kevin Brown, Executive Director of the Blue Island Historical Society, will lead guests through historic commercial corridors and across the Calumet-Saganashkee Channel, sharing stories of the region’s industrial heritage, community resilience and unique environmental history. Drink stops include Blue Island Eagles, Blue Island Beer Company and Rock Island Public House. Space is limited!

A bittersweet goodbye to our former Skyline Council President as she begins her new professional adventure. We'll miss her kindness and passion for preservation but are so excited for her new chapter to begin. ♥️♥️

Last week we enjoyed BEAUTIFUL weather and buildings during the Skyline Council Pub Crawl. The tour included historic Fort Sheridan and Highwood and was led by Will Tippens, Vice President of Related Midwest and a Landmarks Illinois Board Member, and Joel Chmara, Professor at the College of Lake County and a world-renowned performance poet. We laughed, we drank some, and we even learned a thing or two. TY to the pubs and bars that hosted our group
