At APA’s 2025 Planners’ Day of Service in Denver, planners explored how art and creativity can strengthen community engagement and planning advocacy.

Through improvisation, hands-on art activities, and classroom art kits, the event showcased how arts education can support stronger public outreach, deeper participation, and more inclusive engagement strategies.

Thousands of planners convene each year in a designated host city for the American Planning Association's (APA) National Planning Conference (NPC). The Planners' Day of Service provides visiting planners with an opportunity to make a positive impact on NPC's host community.
