🍩❤️ National Donut Day is a reminder that The Salvation Army has always been about showing up for our neighbors in meaningful ways.

From the Donut Lassies of WWI to today, that spirit of compassion continues across North and Central Illinois. From opening a new veterans shelter in Champaign, to honoring firefighters and first responders in Crystal Lake, to generous partner support helping fund essential programs in Chicago—this day was about so much more than sweet treats.

A huge thank you to our incredible partners and supporters who helped make it all possible! 🙌

🍩 Happy National Donut Day!

Today, we honor The Salvation Army's Donut Lassies, who brought comfort, hope, and a taste of home to soldiers during World War I. More than 100 years later, their legacy of service and compassion continues to inspire us.

❤️ Thank you for helping us continue to serve our neighbors and do the most good.
