Our school was founded on the principle of social justice and the belief that when a community stands together in the fight for self-determination, meaningful change is possible. That same spirit lives in the history of Juneteenth, a day that honors the resilience, courage, and determination of those who never stopped fighting for collective freedom.
Today, we celebrate not only the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, but also the ongoing pursuit of justice, equity, and liberation for all communities. As a school Born Out of Struggle, we recognize that progress has always been driven by people who organized, persevered, and believed a better future was possible.
Happy Juneteenth from all of us at Social Justice High School. ❤️🖤💚 May we continue to learn from the past, honor those who came before us, and carry forward the work of building a more just world.
