Walk It Out For Andrew (WIOFA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting Chicagoland teens b

Walk It Out For Andrew (WIOFA) is a 501(c)(3) organization benefiting the Teen Hematology and Oncology Support Groups at Advocate Children’s Hospital. The Support Groups organize activities for patients such as attending Chicago Blackhawks and Sox games, downtown dinners and other fun outings. These outings are essential in helping the teens regain a sense of normalcy and provide a fun, social and supportive escape from the harshness of treatment. As the sole sponsor of the group, WIOFA covers all costs associated with these trips.

annie is team WIOFA! Annie will be coming out of a 12 year retirement from marathon running to hit all 26.2 miles of Chicago streets once again. this time, every training run, every step on the course this October, the pursuit of her PR, is in support of our mission.

Annie’s fundraising goes directly to the Andrew Smialek Family Fund for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology and bringing the kids we support all the fun, friendships, and memories we’ve always created through wiofa.

on we’re thinking about the kids spending this holiday season in hospital rooms instead of classrooms. in treatment chairs instead of family gatherings. facing challenges no child should ever have to face. 💛 our mission has always been to give kids and families facing cancer and blood disorders a chance to feel joy, connection, and a sense of normalcy when they need it most.

this year, we’re kicking off our wiofa wishlist holiday fundraiser, and we’re asking for your help to make the season brighter for the patients at advocate children’s hospital. swipe to see some of the places the kids want to go next year and what wishes you can help fulfill heading into 2026. we’ll be updating their wishlist all throughout the holiday season!
