International Opioid Awareness Day!

A Day of Remembering, Connecting and Commitment
On August 31st the South Side He**in Opioid Task Force (SSHOTF) proudly hosted a powerful day of community, awareness, resources, and remembrance at the South Shore Cultural Center. This event was a tremendous success, and we are grateful to everyone who came out, supported the vision, shared resources, and helped make the day meaningful. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of our vendors and community partners, including IDHS, Donell Barnett, Rafael Rivera, our family and friends, Bridge to Freedom, and Building a Legacy Foundation. Your presence, partnership, and commitment to serving our communities made a difference. Together, we created a space where individuals and families could connect with vital resources, learn about overdose prevention and recovery, and be reminded that no one has to walk this journey alone. SSHOTF remains committed to bringing people, organizations, and resources together to save lives, strengthen families, and build healthier communities. We thank each of you for standing with us and helping make August 31 a day to remember!

Many individuals seeking assistance for drug use experience significant stress related to basic necessities and essentials. Consider the positive impact on our communities if we could alleviate hunger for even one person. The potential reduction in harm could be substantial.________
