This and every July we observe Disability Pride Month, which celebrates the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26, 1990.

Even with the ADA, people with disabilities (which include 61 million adults in the US) face massive barriers when trying to access reproductive healthcare.

This and every July we observe Disability Pride Month, which celebrates the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26, 1990.

Even with the ADA, people with disabilities (which include 61 million adults in the US) face massive barriers when trying to access reproductive healthcare.

MAC knows the already existing pressures to get from the South (where over 330 of our clients so far have traveled from this year) to reach an abortion provider, and how these barriers are compounded for people with disabilities. And MAC is here to support- by asking our clients respectfully about their needs, setting-up ADA-enforced supports for travel and hotel accommodations, and harnessing other resources to make sure accessing their abortion is smooth.

There are some great ways (every month!) to advance your knowledge of disability justice and history. Check out the Crip Camp documentary to see disabled activism at work, and learn about the Capitol Crawl and what it meant for disability rights.

The past several months and years have been incredibly traumatizing for our Iranian, Kurdish, Palestinian, Lebanese, and other Southwest Asian and North African siblings (both in their homelands and in diaspora). At Reproductive Justice for All, we know that grief - rooted in loss, displacement, and ongoing systemic harm - is political, and that moving through it is necessary for our movement work. With this in mind, RJ4A is hosting a virtual Iran-centered Healing Circle, led by death doula Misha (she/he/they), on June 23rd at 4PM PST / 5PM CST / 6PM EST. Misha will facilitate a safe space for folks to ground themselves and engage in inner grief work together. All are welcome, regardless of background/identity!
If you are interested in joining this healing session, please RSVP here: tinyurl.com/rj4allheals

Misha’s bio:
Misha is a death worker who helps diaspora members (and beyond) move through grief from a culturally-informed lens. Misha (she/he/they) is the child of an Iranian immigrant, and the keeper of her memories. Through Hafez Death Care, they offer culturally-rooted, anti-imperialist support for dying people and their loved ones throughout the dying process.

06/15/2026

Trans people accessing abortion and reproductive care face significantly more barriers including being misgendered, dysphoria during clinic appointments, lack of access to trans-affirming doctors, and unsupportive family members. Additionally, many folks come out as trans after becoming pregnant and experiencing the changes and realities of having a birthing body. For Pride we’re reminding everyone that trans people have abortions and trans people give birth! It’s up to all of us to make sure that they have safe spaces to make those decisions and to raise, or not raise, children. Go to the link in our bio to hear interviews from trans people that have gotten pregnant and how essential and gender affirming reproductive healthcare is.
