Last Friday, we partnered with SWOP, Gage Park High School and CP4P for an amazing Career Pathways & Back-to-School event! 🎓✨

Our youth heard from 8 incredible panelists who shared their career journeys and experiences, inspiring them to dream big about their futures. Thank you for sharing your time, stories, and wisdom with our community! 💼🙌🏽

The day was filled with games, a game truck, free food, and plenty of fun! 🎮🍕 We also gave out 100+ backpacks filled with school supplies to help our youth start the school year ready. 🎒📚

Increase the Peace Chicago is hiring for Fall 2026 programs in partnership with After School Matters! 🎉

Two programs available:

🌿 Peacemakers at Increase the Peace: Focused on community beautification, community organizing, improving neighborhood spaces, and creating positive change in our communities.

💼 Increase the Peace Career Readiness Program: Focused on professional development, community organizing, career exploration, and preparing youth for their future paths!

💰 Ages: 14–18
⏰ How to Apply: Complete the Google Form and apply through the After School Matters website
🗓️ Program Duration: September 28 – December 12, 2026
📍 Locations: Gage Park & Back of the Yards

Eligibility: Must be a Chicago resident, 14–18 years old and currently enrolled in high school.

Through these opportunities, teens will:
• Build leadership skills
• Connect with their community
• Gain hands-on experience
• Develop skills for their future careers

ALL WHILE GETTING PAID! ‼️💸
Stipends vary depending on the program.

We wrapped up our Summer 2026 programming with a celebration at South Shore Beach! ☀️🌊

This summer, we welcomed 47 amazing young people who made the session so special. Our youth enjoyed pizza, snacks, volleyball, Marco Polo, cup pong, and plenty of time to relax, laugh, and connect with one another. 💚

We’re so proud of all their hard work, growth, and energy this summer, and we’re grateful for the memories we made together. Here’s to a summer full of fun, friendship, and community!

We hope to see many familiar faces again soon! ✨
