Yesterday, former Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White was joined by Chicago Vice-Mayor Walter Burnett to distribute 500 winter jackets and hats to those in need. The jackets were donated to the Jesse White Foundation by Ann Jhin and the Korean-American Friendship Network.

These items are necessary to help those in need to brave through this winter, which already has proven to be tough and life-threatening.

Former Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White distributed care packages to 500 to high school graduates going to college in the fall. The "trunks" included bed linens, towels, school supplies, toiletries and electronics. This is White's ninth year organizing this program through the Jesse White Foundation. I was proud to distribute toys, winter coats and scooters to the students of the Jesse White Learning Academy in Hazel Crest. A special thanks to Dr. Levy and Coach Napier for organizing the toy drive and to for donating the coats and scooters. What a great way to help others and share the spirit of the season.

Today we celebrated the 6th annual Trunk Party with over 500 incoming freshman who received bags filled with necessary items for college including bed sheets, towels, pens and much more with masks and social distancing. Thank you to all our volunteers and donors. Congrats to all our graduates!
