Avondale Community Defense Committee But most importantly, our committee's goal is to build a sense of community and solidarity in these trying times.

The Avondale Community Defense Committee is a subcommittee of the Community Defense Committee, an initiative started by 35th Ward Alderman Carlos Rosa in wake of the Trump Administration's call for mass deportations of undocumented people and refugees. This committee's goal is to inform residents on their constitutional rights, educate people on how to document law enforcement activity, and explore options to stop or stall deportations as they are happening.
