Hi folks, we will no longer be updating Facebook. We’re trying to find ways to cut down our use of Meta and this feels like low-hanging fruit. We’ll still be on Instagram (Yes, we get that Instagram is owned by Meta. You don’t need to explain that to us.) and LinkedIn. Maybe TikTok? Who knows.

Do we think this will tip the needle? No. Do we realize this is purely symbolic? Yes. Does it temporarily make us feel slightly better about the toxic web social media has us all trapped in? Yes.

Anyways, Mark Zuckerberg is a pathetic dweeb✌🏽😘

Sometimes, the best way to clear your head is just to get moving and yapping. Walking and chit chatting—whether it’s with a friend, a therapist, or even just yourself—can do wonders for your mental health. It helps you work through emotions, reduce stress, and feel more connected.A simple bop and chat might be exactly what you need to feel a little lighter.

Here’s your gentle reminder: You don’t have to be productive every single day. Rest, relaxation, and simply existing are just as important as ticking items off a to-do list.

Progress isn’t linear, and your worth isn’t tied to how much you accomplish. Be kind to yourself—you're enough just as you are. 💛

We're not gonna lie. Despite our commitment to focusing on the local, doing what we can with what we have, and shoring up our hope for the year ahead, it's *gestures wildly* all still very hard. Tomorrow is the fourth anniversary of the insurrection, you know the day when a bunch of white supremacists stormed the capitol and...didn't really face any consequences? We're only about two weeks out from the inauguration of a man who incited and inspired this act of domestic terrorism.

As we keep trying to make sense of it all, we're finding hope in this artwork from . Yes, so much is terrible. Yes, so much is also inspiring, beautiful, joyful. Both things are true. As we head into the year, we invite you all to cling to all the good that's left to see, all the good that's left to do, all the good that's left to learn.

Our Story

In true millennial fashion, Women Unite! began as a text thread - a space where founding members Ally Burns, Liz Jansen, Sterling Haukom Anderson, Andreanna Triliegi, and Darcie Young Tashey could vent about the election of Donald Trump. We decided to channel our feelings into something positive, and together we launched Women Unite! From December 2016 to December 2018, we hosted monthly fundraisers for local nonprofits committed to uplifting and empowering the communities most attacked by this administration. In just over two years we raised more than $50,000 for 28 local nonprofits.

In January 2019, Women Unite! changed its model, evolving into a 100% women-operated organization that partners with three Chicago-based charities for 12 months, offering our capacity building services for free. We fund our charitable partnerships through the work we do for our clients. We provide the following services: fundraising & communications, graphic design & marketing, and professional training & development. Our areas of training expertise are: how to be an ally, race & class privilege, diversity & inclusion, sexual harassment, and implicit bias. Trainings can also be customized on a variety of issues to fit your needs. For mission-aligned organizations, we offer all services on a sliding scale fee.
