Today, we join communities across the United States in commemorating Juneteenth, a powerful celebration of freedom, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of justice. As we honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, we also reflect on the deep historical connections between Africa and the African diaspora.

Juneteenth reminds us of the strength, perseverance, and cultural contributions of people of African descent around the world. Let us celebrate the progress that has been made, while continuing to work toward unity, equity, and opportunity for all.

The Ghana National Council proudly stands in solidarity with our African American brothers and sisters as we honor this important day of remembrance, reflection, and celebration.

Happy Juneteenth!
