Forward Momentum Chicago: Dancing Towards the Future

Forward Momentum Chicago: Dancing Towards the Future Forward Momentum Chicago provides opportunities
through dance programming.

Forward Momentum Chicago provides high-quality affordable dance education programs in the classroom and in the community to children typically not exposed to this art form with emphasis on health and fitness. Our Big Ideas, Enduring Understanding, and Essential Questions transcend each discipline allowing students to leave "dance class" with critical thinking, communication, and creative processes that they can apply to their other subjects. Forward Momentum Chicago programs are built upon a foundation in:
*21st Century Learning Goals
*National Common Core Standards
*National Dance Standards
*Social Emotional Learning

October 3 marked
🎉 13 YEARS OF FORWARD MOMENTUM CHICAGO! 🎉

13 years of movement.
13 years of creativity.
13 years of young people finding their voice, building confidence, and discovering what’s possible. 💙

From classrooms to stages, from first steps to big leaps, FMC has been moving with Chicago youth for 13 incredible years. 🥹✨

And we’re just getting started.

We celebrate the students, families, Teaching Artists, schools, partners, supporters, alumni, and community who have helped make this journey possible. This milestone belongs to all of us.

Here’s to 13 years of making an impact through dance—and to the many more moves ahead. 🥂💃🏾🕺🏾

Happy Birthday, FMC! 💙🎂

Our Teens dazzled the stage last night at the After School Matters Gala!

Pictured here with FMC Alum Ciara J. Evans | Media Personality and current ASM Board Member who also danced 4 Swans as a teen!

We are so grateful for our partnership with After School Matters and the impact we are able to make together on Chicago Teens! 💙💜

Our FMC dancers took the stage at Chicago LIVE! at Navy Pier, and we’re still feeling the energy! Our dancers showed up, showed out, and reminded us why we do what we do. 💙

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our young artists and celebrate the power of dance with us. Here’s a little look back at the day! 🎥🕺🏾💃🏾
