p It Up! (KIU!) is a new multi-media online HIV prevention program that is currently offered by the Center on Halsted. Topics include discussions of community involvement, scenarios on hooking-up online, communication skills in relationships (including negotiating safer s*x), condom use, and HIV/STI risks. Information is presented in various formats like games, animation, and videos. Because it’s online, you have the flexibility to complete it whenever and wherever you choose. Participants rated the program very highly and one participant remarked: “this is the future of gay s*x education!”

Gay, bis*xual, and other men who have s*x with men represent 2% of the United States population yet accounted for 63% of new HIV infections in 2010. Among this group, gay and bis*xual men of color are even more disproportionately impacted.

Join panelists Yolo Akili, Kenyon Farrow, Aquarius Gilmer, and Charles Stephens discuss the devaluation of black male life made particularly relevant by current events such as Ferguson, the living legacy of Marlon Riggs and his work, and leadership and power in AIDS Service Organizations.
