Neighborhood Development Services NFP. Neighborhood Development Services NFP. or " NDS " is a Community Development Corporation
located in the Rose Moore community on the South Side of Chicago.

Improving education, cultural arts and Tourism is our mission. Neighborhood Development Services is an organizations that features cultural education through tourism and mentor ship through interaction. Our educational tours teach the history of the historical African American communities on the South side of Chicago through a series of hands on tours to places like the Pullman Porter Museum, the

South side Community Art Center, the Bronzeville Visitor Information Center, the DuSable Museum and the Black Metropolis Historical District. The information provided by these tours cannot be found in school text books.The hands on visits to these sites provide a unique perspective for the student. Neighborhood Development Services also seeks to educate our children through in the field digital media and written journalism. With the help from a group of college student called "Youth Communications" we've put together a "junior journalist" program that teaches students how to write article, essay's, and papers using digital. It also shows the student the end and outs of the journalism business because the sessions are taught by students majoring in this area of journalism.

Neighborhood Development Services Salutes the Bronzeville " Black Metropolis Historical District" During Our Celebration of Black History Month. During the depression in 1932 , in this area of Chicago called "Bronzeville" the people in this community earned the name "Black Metropolis" because they created their own goods and services. During this era African Americans created one of the most successful Insurance Companies, the oldest African American News paper, and the largest African American Cosmetic and hygiene companies in the world. I'm proud to say I was born here and live here.
