We are excited to share that a new mural has come to the Bloomingdale Trail in celebration of its 10-year anniversary. The mural is by local artist Ramiro Huizar, whose work often reflects personal memories and everyday moments in the city. This piece is inspired by his experience growing up biking through Chicago -- those long summer nights riding with friends -- and how those memories come full circle today as he watches his daughters explore the city in their own way. Through this mural, Ramiro hopes to capture that sense of movement, nostalgia, and connection to the trail that so many in the community share. Look for it at Milwaukee and the trail. Thanks to for helping to fund this gem, for your vision, and for your curation of this incredible series.

Thanks Hey Chicago! We love it too. Come give the Bloomingdale Trail a ride this spring.

Thanks Hey Chicago! We love it too. Come give the Bloomingdale Trail a ride this spring.

Chicago took an abandoned railway that hadn't been used since the 1990s and turned it into something extraordinary.

The Bloomingdale Trail is a 2.7-mile elevated park running through Wicker Park, Bucktown, Humboldt Park and Logan Square β€” sitting above street level the entire way, with views of the city that most people never see.

It opened in 2015 and has become one of the most loved green spaces in the city. Locals use it to run, cycle, walk the dog, and watch the Chicago skyline from an angle that doesn't exist anywhere else.

The best part? It's completely free, open year round, and most visitors never find it.
