Come hang out with us at the Global Peace Pavillion in Honor of Dr. Bambade Shakoor-Abdullah at the African Festival of the Arts this Labor Day weekend; August 31st to September 3rd. We will have fun activities for both children and adults.

On Friday August 31st at 6PM, we will be having a Memorial balloon Launch in honor of my mother Dr. Bambade H. Shakoor-Abduallh. Try to wear something "Red - the noble blood that unites all people of African ancestry; Black - the color black for the people or Green -for the rich land of Africa. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE....

Imam of Masjid Al-Taqwa Tariq I. El-Amin led the 2nd Prayer

Dhabiha Jerk Chicken provided by Darryal D Pitmaster Montique of Jerker's Wild (Au Naturel) Catering

High school freshmen Adam Simpkins opened with Qur'an recitation.

Chicagoland Shura Council Convener & Board President Ndidi A. Okakpu opened the program

SUN Puppet Theater gave a special Eid performance

Hajji Roderick Bashir moderated a Hajj Panel Discussion and Q&A with past Hujjaj: Imam Rabbani Mubashshir, Dr. Raushanah Madyun, Brenda El-Amin & The International League of Muslim Women Inc., Chicago Chapter President

Believers enjoyed a Hajj trivia challenge complete with bluetooth stereo prizes

Youth enjoyed bounce house fun and a video game truck

Shakirah Bashir of "That Pioneering Spirit" led the youth in distributing pioneer gifts and Instructor Jameelah Madyun distributed youth gifts.

The day closed out as Qurbani lamb arrived freshly slaughtered by Abdur Raheem and distributed by Rod Bashir & Baheerah Muhammad. Special thanks to Naim A. Muhammad and Ndidi A. Okakpu for the Qurbani/Udhiyyah program.
