Meet our Sub-Director, Anali Guzman!

Anali was born and raised in Pilsen, the middle child with two brothers. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at UIC and began student teaching at Burroughs Elementary during her senior year. She now teaches there. Ms. Guzman loves Saturday Place because she gets to witness students’ growth, both academically and socially. It is special to her because all the teachers are a strong team who share the same vision of helping students succeed.

Thank you Anali for helping to lead Saturday Place!

Meet the Director of Saturday Place, Maribel Herrera!

Maribel was born and raised on Chicago’s South Side and dreamed of becoming a teacher from a young age. She graduated from Jones College Prep High School as a junior and enrolled at National Louis University that same year.

Ms. Herrera currently works at Hamline Elementary, where the school and community have become part of her extended family. She has been an educator in Chicago Public Schools for over 20 + years and believes teaching is a selfless career with endless rewards.

Thank you Maribel for leading the Saturday Place program and working on our exciting path towards growth!
