🚨🚨🚨CPI UPDATE. Today’s release of the CPI-W has the accumulation toward the February 2027 COLA at $541 or 26 cents per hour - there are 4 more months to go, however NALC employees are not currently eligible for the COLA as we have had no contract for 144 days and employees not at top step only get a fraction. This is in addition to the 68 cent per hour COLA received by APWU Employees and other crafts last week for the March thru August 26 period.

🚨🚨Ballot update- we had correspondence with the election Chairman and while we are still waiting for answers to most of our questions we did get clarification on which barcode to remove if someone you know got a ballot returned.

As we thought it’s the red barcode as demonstrated in the photos below- cover or black out the red barcode.

Our team believes that as of today just over 100k ballots have been received in NYC. We will let you know if we get answers to our other questions!

We’ve been talking about letter carrier safety for years. Legislation has been introduced in Congress and nothing’s getting done.

Another reason we need a new President, one with the energy to mobilize the union and get something passed that has real teeth:

Four Detroit men are facing federal charges after a USPS mail carrier was allegedly beaten, kicked while on the ground and shot in the head while delivering mail on Detroit's east side.

Federal investigators say the attack began after one of the men allegedly spotted "the mailman," said he wanted to "go fight" him, and the group then allegedly jumped the carrier.
The complaint details bloody knuckles, multiple guns, a stolen .40-caliber handgun recovered near the scene and statements investigators say tie several of the men directly to the attack.

Michael Grayse, Kyron Grayse, Randy Parker-Smith and Daquan Hare are all charged in the case; all four face up to 20 years on the assault charge, while Michael Grayse, Parker-Smith and Hare also face a fi***rm charge carrying a mandatory minimum of 10 additional consecutive years, meaning they could face 30 years or more if convicted.

If you haven’t mailed your ballot in yet, it’s time.

This was received by the union earlier this week, we will be reviewing all the changes to make sure they aren’t in conflict with our contract or harm letter carriers in any way and proceed accordingly.
