​Print Studio’s Basecamp is happening on June 6th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. They’ve brought together some incredible partners, resource agencies, and vendors to support neighborhood entrepreneurs, including the , , , , , , and more.

​The event includes coffee by .happy.thoughts to kick off the morning, tamales from , and lunch by on Grand. They will also have a professional photographer, Carmen Ordóñez, on-site for free headshots, and they'll be wrapping it all up with a happy hour powered by ☕️🫔📸💐🍹

Resilience is in our DNA...

Cinco de Mayo is about the spirit of the Battle of Puebla, a small group standing their ground against the impossible.

We see that same spirit every day in our communities. Through every struggle and every challenge our people face, we keep pushing. We show up for our local mom-and-pop shops, our eloteros, our paleteros, the cotton candy man, because supporting each other is how we fight back. Looking back at last year’s 2nd Abuelita 5k and seeing this flag fly at the finish line... it reminds me that when you want to give up, that’s exactly when you keep going. Proud of our Mexican roots and every culture that makes this country great. Hold your loved ones tight today and every day.

It’s been 2 years of making noise and making a difference...

We started as a small group of entrepreneurs with a big mission. Today, we are a growing community that spends every day fighting for the funding and resources our entrepreneurs deserve, and making sure our small businesses in Chicago do not get squeezed out.

From bringing in $43,000 in grants to our small business community, to helping them navigate the complicated business landscape, to connecting them to mentors and other small business owners to form intentional collaborations, to supporting a business-led town hall, to activating our community spaces with 5ks and festivals, to grand openings, and last but not least, injecting $80,000 back into our small business community during one of the hardest times in Chicago's modern history.

Imagine what we’ve done in just 24 months. Now imagine where we’ll be in 5 years. Thank you to people that support us, whether that's by shopping local, thank you to our chamber members, sponsors, elected officials that advocate for us, associate board, and board of directors 🙏🏽

Is your business operating under Chicago's invisible umbrella?

Even though the city of Chicago has infrastructure to be more equitable, that model DOES NOT apply to the limited business license (or regulated license), which accounts for over 50% of the licenses in Chicago! With the new business license increase, a local florist pays the same $500 fee as a corporate giant like Macy’s. They all operate under this invisible umbrella ☔ Is it equitable or fair to charge a neighborhood mom and pop shop the same as a massive corporation? (ALWAYS ENCOURAGE YOU TO FACT-CHECK ME, I'M LEARNING AS I GO 🫠)
