It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of one of our TFLF recipients, Avery. Forever his family is in our thoughts and prayers.
From his mom, Katrena
This boy right here has a smile that would light up any room. It would make anyone that was having a bad day have no choice but give a smile back.
It is with the deepest pain and sadness that I share that Avery went to be with God in the early hours of Saturday morning while he was asleep.
This has been a shock to all of us.
No, we don’t know what happened.
All I know is:
No mother should have to give her child CPR.
No stepdad should have to call 911.
No brother should have to see his older brother not breathing.
No dad should get a phone call at 5:14am saying to hurry over because something is wrong.
No stepmom or stepbrothers should have to stay home and just wait by the phone for updates.
No best friend should have to fly to DC to be with the sisters while mom and dad FaceTime them to tell them their brother is gone.
No grandparents should be woken up with a phone call saying their grandson is with Jesus.
The only peace we have is that Avery is no longer in pain. His suffering is over. Avery is up in heaven running football plays, singing, dancing, and giving everyone hugs.
Isaiah 40:31-But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’
Avery’s life was impacted by SO many people. However, I think the impact he had on others is so much greater. He taught others through his daily actions. He found joy even in the pain. He loved others unconditionally. Even though he couldn’t fully participate in things due to his physical limitations, he was happy to just be included, even if he just was able to watch.
