We’re proud to present the first two in-person workshops in our sign language interpreter workshop series: Beyond Bilingual.
What does it mean to work beyond bilingual?
Some may be looking to better understand what sign language trilingual interpreting actually is and how it works, even though moving between languages has always been part of their life.
Others may already be working interpreters and are looking to deepen their understanding of the frameworks, tools, and settings within trilingual interpreting.
If you’re an ASL interpreter or interpreting student wanting to learn more about trilingual interpreting or how to get started in this space, this workshop series focuses on the skills, decision-making, and real-world application of the work.
🗓 When: April 12 9am - 2:15pm & 2:15pm - 5:30pm
📍 Where: 425 Fawell Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
🎓 Cost: 2 FREE workshops with CEUs available (up to 0.75 total)
🥗 Lunch provided during the first workshop Presented in ASL and English (Trilingual ASL interpreters present)
During the first workshop, we’ll explore practical frameworks and the foundation of trilingual work. In the second workshop, we’ll move into applied scenarios, live practice, and engage with working trilingual interpreters and community through an interactive panel.
Attendance at both workshops is recommended, but if you’re only able to join one, we still encourage you to attend.
These workshops are offered at no cost, with CEUs available for working interpreters.
See you there!
