Reiki Brigade Raising awareness and availability of the benefits of reiki by offering presentations and demos in un It is a household word, much like yoga or meditation.

VISION
Reiki is a valued, mainstream healthcare practice available at all levels of society. MISSION
The mission of the Reiki Brigade is to raise awareness of the benefits of reiki energy healing, elevate its image as a wellness practice, and mainstream its availability. This will be accomplished by:

• Offering community service (demonstrations within underserved populations and established socia

l institutions),
• Giving polished, multi-media presentations at conferences, organizations and special events,
• Participating in health fairs and wellness events,
• Publishing articles,
• Teaching classes,
• Participating in research activities,
• Supporting the professional development of Reiki practitioners through education, volunteerism, and employment opportunities,
• Fostering practitioner networks and collaboration, and
• Promoting all of the above by leveraging social media

Target populations for reiki programs include, but are not limited to:

• Veterans via the VA system and ancillary service organizations
• First responders (law enforcement, fire departments, and EMTs)
• Medical schools (students, faculty, and staff)
• Correctional institutions (residents, administration, and staff)

We will know we have accomplished our mission when:

• Reiki is fully integrated into established physical, mental, and rehabilitative care facilities where it is offered and taught by respected and well-paid professional practitioners as part of prescribed treatment protocols.
• Practicing and teaching reiki is a viable career choice for anyone interested in pursuing it.
• Reiki is practiced by the general public on a regular basis as a means of self-care for enhanced wellbeing on all levels.

We had a wonderful time at the 100 Club of Illinois’ annual Frontline Convention alongside more than 600 first responders focused on improving wellness for their colleagues. We missed all the other speakers, but we have a good excuse: We were offering Reiki to 147 attendees!

Thanks to practitioners Mike, Nicky, , Angela, .mbodywellness, Trish, , Liz, Vero, , Jane, Didzis, , and to for helping us share Reiki with folks who can really use it.

It was great to be back at the Chicago Police Academy offering Reiki to new recruits and instructors. We love sending new cops into their first assignments knowing the CPD prioritizes their mental health, and that Reiki is a very useful resource to that end. We were honored to support Chicago Police Dept’s 12th District alongside , , , .performance, and others. Reiki belongs everywhere wellness is happening!

We were able to offer Reiki to 20 officers and it was very well received.

Thanks to practitioners Monique and Mike, and to Alyssa Ramirez and Sgt. Ontiveros @ CPD’s 12th District for taking such good care of our first responders. It’s a tough job, and we want you happy and healthy!
