What a day! 🌊

ChiPride volunteers were at Montrose Beach today for a beach cleanup with Alliance for the Great Lakes (https://www.instagram.com/alliance4greatlakes) and CMAP (https://www.instagram.com/cmapillinois) Together, we collected over 100 lbs of trash from the beach and surrounding park. That’s 100 lbs that won’t end up in the lake!

This is what community looks like. We show up, we get our hands dirty, and we leave things better than we found them. Proud of every single person who was out there today. 🏳️‍🌈

🌈🐠 What a fabulous way to celebrate Pride in Chicago! 🐠🌈

ChiPride Volunteering was thrilled to host a table at Pride Night at the iconic Shedd Aquarium, an event dedicated to celebrating and uplifting the LGBTQ+ community through connection, creativity, and community spirit.

We had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, share the mission of ChiPride Volunteering, talk about the power of giving back, and connect community members with meaningful ways to get involved. Even better, we welcomed many new members to our growing organization!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, shared your stories, asked questions, and expressed interest in volunteering. Your enthusiasm reminds us why building community through service is so important.

We’re proud to connect Chicago’s LGBTQ+ community and allies through volunteerism, and we’re excited to see all the new faces at future events. 💜

🌈 Happy First Day of Pride Month! 🌈

Members of Chipride Volunteering came together at Meeting House to kick off Pride Month in the best way possible—building community, sharing smiles, and making thousands of Pride buttons for the Chicago Pride Parade!

Our volunteers are hard at work creating more than 5,000 buttons that we’ll hand out throughout the parade to help spread love, inclusion, and celebration across Chicago. Every button represents a small reminder that everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported.

Pride is about community, connection, and showing up for one another. We’re proud to spend the first day of Pride Month volunteering alongside incredible people who are helping make this year’s celebration even more colorful.

We were proud to partner with to plant native grasses, combat erosion, and help restore Illinois’ native forest ecosystems. Every plant in the ground is a step toward healthier habitats, stronger biodiversity, and a more sustainable future.

This Saturday, ChiPride Volunteering spent the day giving back at as they prepare for kitten season and the recent influx of kittens they’ve taken in this month. 🐾💙

Our volunteers worked on a variety of projects and tasks to help support their team and the animals in their care, including:
• Cleaning their van to help ensure they’re ready for the busy kitten season ahead
• Mailing letters
• Creating cat bags for new cat owners
• Portioning cat food for their pantry
• Organizing and prepping newspaper to use as a base for cat houses
Thank you to everyone who came out to volunteer and help make a difference for local cats and kittens in need! 🐱✨

Big impact weekend 💙

Because of our incredible volunteers, we organized 50,000 diapers for distribution—helping families keep their little ones clean, healthy, and cared for. Thank you for a wonderful event!

We also sorted and prepared 670 outfits, giving children in need access to clothing that brings comfort, confidence, and dignity. 👕✨

Every diaper. Every outfit. Every act of service—it all adds up to stronger families and a stronger community.
