Congratulations to all of the students who successfully completed the UIC LARES Summer Institute! 🎓👏

It was a privilege for the Foundation to be there and to have the opportunity to listen to students share their concerns, experiences, goals, and perspectives. The Institute provides an important space for students to explore their identity, learn about issues affecting the Latino community, strengthen their leadership skills, and develop the tools to become agents of change.

We wish all of the UIC LARES Summer Institute participants a wonderful and successful school year filled with growth, new opportunities, and continued success. 📚✨

And our best wishes extend to all students across Illinois as they begin a new school year. The future of Illinois looks incredibly bright because of the young people who are learning, leading, and working to make a difference in their communities.

Congratulations, UIC LARES students, and best wishes for an amazing school year! 🌟

Yesterday the Foundation hosted its annual “Plática” with our esteemed partners the Illinois Beef and Illinois Pork. As shared at our plática, the history, present, and future of farming is unequivocally intertwined with Latino identity, workforce, and commerce. It was truly a pleasure to learn about the needs of the industry, how it intersects with the needs of the Latino community, and how together we will build a stronger Illinois for us all.

Health is shaped by more than what happens in a doctor’s office. It is shaped by trust, access, community partnerships, and the policies that impact people’s everyday lives.

At our 4th Annual Life Science Academy, we brought together leaders across healthcare, life sciences, government, and our communities to have important conversations about how we can work together to build healthier communities across Illinois.

These conversations matter—and so does the continued partnership of those committed to turning dialogue into meaningful action. Together, we can help create a healthier future for every community we serve.
