Thesix Chamber Ensemble, Inc. A chamber wind and piano group bringing classical music to the modern audience. Founded in January 2011 as a group; Non-Profit October 2013.

Thesix Chamber Ensemble is formed for the purpose of promoting the appreciation and education of quality chamber music works to the public. Thesix Chamber Ensemble will work towards:
-Performing chamber music concerts for the public to demonstrate the diversity and richness of chamber music.
-Presenting chamber music concerts, programs and activities for children and young individuals to develop t

heir musical interests and further their understanding of music.
-Work towards establishing communication between current composers and audiences to educate the public about new chamber music compositions by commissioning and presenting new works.

We had a great time participating in such a great event.

"Thank you to the wonderful KSO musicians and guests who shared their talents in our local schools! The performances were held in DeKalb School District 428 and Sycamore School District 427.

The KSO Outreach ensembles featured a bassoon and violin duet, a wind quartet, and a string quartet. The program's goal is to engage, enrich, and educate the community through music.

The school performances included:
• Malta Elementary School
• Tyler Elementary School
• Founders Elementary School
• Jefferson Elementary School
• Huntley Middle School
• Sycamore Middle School

The program was supported by a Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation Fund grant."

We partnered with the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra for to fund as many grants and scholarships as possible to help DeKalb School District 428 K-12 music teachers' classrooms and to help music students to go to college, camp, and other special events to experience new musical opportunities.

We love going back Dekalb as we are all NIU School of Music alumni!
