It's amazing how a little empathy can change everything, isn't it? Beautiful campaign from Heineken celebrating the power of unlikely community connections. We couldn't agree more.

Two strangers with polar opposite views meet in this Heineken ad, which gets political in a way that Pepsi would do well to consider next time.

Is there a way for global brands to collaborate with local communities to make a positive impact and grow brand engagement in the process? We've always thought so – and in collaboration with Goose Island, we got to go to 4 markets to see whether our hunch was right.

Back home in chilly Chicago, we made a video to show what we mean when we talk about a "Party with a Purpose". Thanks and high fives to our creative, welcoming, ingenious guests from across the country who helped their communities bring ideas to life. Cheers from us, Annie Swank and Kate Garmey.

Cheers to The Second City, this latest iteration of improv, and to the companies who "play to the top of their intelligence."

We give your individuals and teams the tools to work beyond the barriers that we face each working day using improv business skills.

Spoke with the sage Michael Slaby, CEO and Head of Mission at Timshel, about measurement: how to get started, why it matters, and where it's heading. (Spoiler: having purpose is increasingly important.) Slaby's perspective has proven most helpful to Drink Tank and we're grateful to be able to share his sentiments with you all. Enjoy!

This video is an interview with Michael Slaby about measuring impact - why it matters and how to start.

Brilliance + insight in this piece on : “Let’s stop talking about THE design process” /

"Though we live in the age of urgency, mastery takes time, patience, and practice. So, while I think it often makes sense to introduce first-timers to design by following a process, remember that it’s not THE process. It simply gives them a small taste of the abilities designers flex. Design as a discipline is evolving and becoming a sophisticated catalyst for positive impact on projects big and small, but the road to results is far from formulaic."

But, before we think about design, let’s talk about cooking

A useful resource for those interested in how companies define their culture:

New technologies spread faster than ever before. Consumer expectations leap from one category to another at ever-quicker speeds. And as more industries become digitized, the barrier to entry for competition falls. In this era, culture is your company's only truly sustainable competitive advantage. N...

This articulates (much better than I ever could) the deceptively simple / entirely urgent need to take a step back and reconsider The American Dream and what means.

Drink Tank talks a lot about "working backwards." And at the risk of being the famously foolish hammer myopically hunting out nails, I must say working backwards from "How do you want to be when you grow up?" as opposed to “What do you want to be?” strikes me as the most useful lifehack.

For the first time in history, the majority of American parents don't think their kids will be better off than they were. This shouldn't be a cause for alarm, says journalist Courtney Martin. Rather, it's an opportunity to define a new approach to work and family that emphasizes community and creati...

Madison Magazine with a great account of "Cultivating Creativity" – there were a lot of moving parts (this was probably our most ambitious event to date) but the collaborative spirit of Madison made it look easy. Thanks Goose Island for helping fuel an important conversation and thanks Lesley Numbers for your beautiful print. Cheers to all our collaborators – The Apartment Project Forequarter Jonny Hunter Vitruvian Farms !

Collaborative event connecting art and local food inspires a screen print by Lesley Anne Numbers.
