Partners in Abolition, Transformation, Healing, & Solidarity (PATHS) will be launching a Black Abolitionist Solidarity Economy (BASE) fellowship for community organizers & activists in mid-June. This is an opportunity to build Black cooperatives grounded in solidarity economy and abolitionist principles. More detail is available in the application link below and you can join upcoming informational sessions later this month to learn more or ask additional questions.

Key Highlights:

- Time Commitment: 6 hours a month (consisting of two 3 hour sessions) over a span of 6 months. Sessions will be a combination of in-person and virtual.
- Stipend for participating: $1,000
- The deadline to apply is May 31st.
- The fellowship is estimated to start in mid June.

Our first Black Liberation Cooperative Academy (BLCA) has officially completed! /
¡Nuestra primera Academia Cooperativa de Liberación Negra (BLCA) ha finalizado oficialmente!

The inaugural cohort of the Black Liberation Cooperative Academy (BLCA for short) met virtually through the winter of 2021 and into the spring of 2022. Cohort members represent a deep and wide network of experiences and collective history. [A picture of our first in person gathering on a beautiful spring day in april of 2022]. Together we reflected on liberation as a collective and individual practice; studied the history of capitalism and discussed cooperativism as a regenerative form of exchange in our communities. We learned about cooperative principles and began to practice collective decision making, using tools like the integrative consent model developed by Round Sky Solutions.

La cohorte inaugural de la Academia Cooperativa de Liberación Negra (BLCA) se reunió virtualmente durante el invierno de 2021 y la primavera de 2022. Los miembros de la cohorte representan una profunda y amplia red de experiencias e historia colectiva. [Una foto de nuestra primera reunión en persona en un hermoso día de primavera en abril de 2022]. Juntes reflexionamos sobre la liberación como práctica colectiva e individual; estudiamos la historia del capitalismo y discutimos el cooperativismo como forma regenerativa de intercambio en nuestras comunidades. Aprendimos sobre los principios cooperativos y empezamos a practicar la toma de decisiones colectiva, utilizando herramientas como el modelo de consentimiento integrador desarrollado por Round Sky Solutions.
