Urban-Eco Urban-Eco,501c3 non-profit that is creating global citizens who try to better themselves and leave a positive impact on their local and global communities.

In July 2012 three teachers went on Safari in Kenya following a ten day intensive graduate research course on Kenyan ecology. While on Safari these very same teachers became inspired to bring several of their own students to Kenya to experience scientific study, become immersed in the ecology of the land and the culture of the Maasai Tribe. No organization existed that brought scientific research,

social out-reach and cultural immersion together, thus Urban-Eco was founded to bring this vision to fruition. Urban-Eco is a not-for-profit organization run 100%by these three volunteer teachers. Urban-Eco's local activities include establishing after-school science clubs in inner cities across the United States. The established Urban-Eco's science clubs focus on educating inner city youth about recycling, re-purposing materials and examining how they can play a more symbiotic role in their environment, locally and globally. Urban-Eco's global activities include funding students and teachers on out-of-country experiences that focus on turning student's knowledge about their symbiotic role in their environment, how to recycle and how to re-purpose materials into actual scientific research that blends the immersion of the ecology of the land and the symbiotic culture of the Maasai Tribe. The focus of Urban-Eco is to raise money over the next year and a half to take 6 of their students to Africa.
