Women's Health Science Program at Northwestern University To make the learning experiences relevant and applicable to the girls’ lives, there is a focused concentration on women's health.

The Women’s Health Science Program (WHSP) at Northwestern University provides young women with hands-on laboratory experiences and access to role models in the science and health professions. The Women's Health Research Institute at Northwestern University created the Women's Health Science Program for High School Girls (WHSP) to engage a diverse population of high school girls from Chicago in aut

hentic learning experiences to explore the basic science, clinical applications, and career options in a variety of science disciplines. WHSP provides a network of scientists, clinicians, educators and parents/guardians to mentor and support the girls' pursuits in science during their transition from high school into college. The Women's Health Science Program (WHSP) at Northwestern University was created to provide science education programs to females from underserved communities. WHSP targets young women who are considering careers in science and medicine and prepares them with valuable knowledge and skills to successfully become the next generation of women science leaders. WHSP encompasses four academies: Oncofertility Saturday Academy (OSA), Cardiology Summer Academy (CSA), Infectious Disease Summer Academy (IDSA), and Physical Science Weekend Academy (PSWA). These academies are held a different times throughout the year, and application is open to to 9th -12th grade students in Chicago Public Schools.
