Working Women’s History Project, along with co-sponsors AAUW Chicago Branch; CAASE (Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation); and SEIU, held a morning program titled “Honoring Marty Goddard: Pioneer in Combatting Sexual Violence.” Pagan Kennedy(on screen from another state), author of “The Secret History of the R**e Kit a True Crime Story,” spoke about Marty Goddard and her zeal to develop a kit that would preserve evidence of assault and would pass legal muster. Moderated by political consultant Delmarie Cobb, the panel was composed of Saunté Harden-Tate, community engagement manager at CAASE; Dr. Traci Kurtzer, OB-GYN, specializing in trauma informed care; and Chanel Vanden Berk, Forensic Nursing Specialist. Each of them shared their experiences and valuable perspectives. Attendees were actively engaged.
