Division Street Business Development Association (DSBDA) is a not for profit organization committed to the economic and social development of the Humboldt Park community. For the past 29 years the Division Street Business Development Association has been serving the small business community in the Near Northwest Side area of Chicago, focusing on the Division Street commercial thoroughfare. The bus
iness community on Division Street is generally composed of small micro-enterprises with informal structures and infrastructure. Many are family run or individuals that are under-capitalized and under-informed by standard business practices/financial responsibilities. The majority of these businesses are minority/Latino owned and of those nearly 50% are minority women. DSBDA attempts to be a one-stop-shop for business information, services, and resources. DSBDA assists businesses obtain permits for sidewalk cafes, public way permits, schedules for sanitation classes, and expedited City services. Since the building of the Paseo Boricua flags/fateway project in 1995, DSBDA has actively sought to raise the visibility of the local community and business market, establishing a "brand presence" for the Paseo Boricua cultural enclave.
