Lenti Legacy Scholarship Supporters,
The Lenti Legacy Scholarship Committee wants to bring you up-to-date on the status of the Lenti Legacy Scholarship Fund.
Through the efforts of the committee and the Mount Carmel Development office, in partnership with the Mount Carmel Endowment Foundation, we have continued to raise funds. Your support has been tremendous. We currently have over $116,000.00 in the fund. Our goal is to grow the fund to a minimum of $200,000.00. This will allow us to be able to award a four-year scholarship each year to an incoming freshman in perpetuity.
The Mount Carmel Endowment Foundation is independent of the Mount Carmel High School Administration. The donations made to the Lenti Legacy Scholarship are invested by the Educational Endowment committee. John Mulherin, class of ’69, is the chair of the committee.
The Foundation offers an investment vehicle that provides financial earnings strictly for the benefit of Mount Carmel High School.
To date, the Foundation has contributed more than $8,000,000 to the students, faculty, and facilities of Mount Carmel. The Foundation’s impact on the school is undeniable and is instrumental in securing a bright future.
The scholarship committee has agreed that only earnings from the investment of scholarship funds can be used to fund a four-year scholarship. Because of this, a scholarship for the current class of 2028 could not be awarded. Our hope is to be able to award a four-year scholarship for an incoming freshman in the class of 2029.
In order to accomplish this, we need to raise an additional $25,000 during the fiscal year which ends on June 30, 2025.
Mount Carmel will be hosting the annual Gala this coming Saturday. The Gala is the principal fundraiser for the Educational Foundation. Attendees will have the opportunity to donate to various scholarships, including the Lenti Legacy Scholarship, throughout the evening.

The current student scholar recipient is Jeremy Ingram, class of ’27. Jeremy’s academic and extracurricular activities are summarized in the annual scholarship report below. Jeremy has continued to maintain the standards set by the scholarship committee and will continue to receive the scholarship benefit.
