💜 Latina Wage Gap Awareness 💜

Latinas continue to face significant economic disparities in the workplace. On average, Latinas earn just 53 cents for every dollar earned by white, non-Hispanic men when considering all workers with reported earnings.

For full-time, year-round workers, Latinas earn approximately 60 cents for every dollar. Over a 40-year career, that gap can translate to an estimated $1.2 million in lost earnings.

These numbers represent more than statistics—they reflect barriers that continue to impact Latina women, their families, and their communities.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved sister, Evette “SINesta” Espana-Papish.

Evette joined Gamma Phi Omega through our Zeta Chapter at Loyola University Chicago.

For those of us who had the privilege of knowing SINesta, we will remember her vibrant and outgoing personality, her deep love for her family, and the joy and energy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her presence was unmistakable, and her absence will be deeply felt.

May SINesta’s memory and spirit forever remain a part of our sisterhood.

💙 National Hazing Prevention Week 💙

At Gamma Phi Omega, we believe sisterhood is built on respect, trust, support, and genuine connection — never fear, pressure, or humiliation.

This National Hazing Prevention Week, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a sisterhood where every member feels safe, valued, welcomed, and empowered to speak up.

Together, we can choose compassion over coercion, inclusion over intimidation, and meaningful sisterhood over hazing.

Real sisterhood lifts each other up. 💙
