It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a long-time TOPS IL70 member, Anne Barsano (pictured center). Anne was very involved in our group as well as being an integral part of her church community. She is someone who genuinely cared for others, not just in her words, but in her actions and the way she lived her life. She will be sorely missed.

We had a great time at the 2024 Northern Illinois TOPS Area Recognition Days. The theme this year was “Bee Positive.” Our chapter, IL 70 Chicago was recognized for having an average loss of just over 11 lbs per member in 2023! We are hoping to add a few new members to our chapter, so if you are in the Chicagoland area and can make it to the Lincoln Square area on Thursdays around 6pm, we’d love to welcome you to our peer support group and Take Off Pounds Sensibly! We are sad to announce the passing of our long-time TOPS member, Dave Eskoz on December 22, 2022. He was a 31 year member of TOPS since 4/1/1991. Dave faithfully attended our Thursday night group except when he had to work, or took one of his fabulous vacations to a far away destination. He often had encouraging words, was always inquisitive, and frequently entertained us with his vast knowledge of puns, funny jokes, and comebacks. We will miss him.
