Harley Helping Hands

Harley Helping Hands The Harley Helping Hands (HHH) Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2009. Their family inspired us all.

The foundation’s mission is to positively impact the lives of adults battling Brain Cancer. The development of the foundation was inspired by our good friend Kit Harley (1976-2010) and his courageous three year battle against brain cancer. Throughout Kit’s fight we saw the financial and emotional burden this disease brings to a family. Throughout our support of Kit, we have supported and will cont

inue to support various organizations whose mission is to provide information resources to patients & fund research. We found there are many extraordinary organizations that promote the funding of research; however none that offer financial support for the brain cancer patient and their family. For three years we watched Kit, with the strength and support of his wife Rachel, fight Brain Cancer with courage and determination. As their friends and family, our hearts would break wanting to find a way to help. Throughout their battle, the resources required to support Kit grew; resulting in an increasing financial burden. We started as a group of friends wanting to help our friends by raising money to assist with the growing financial burden; however our purpose quickly grew into something much larger. We asked ourselves…Of the 22,738 people diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor each year…how many of them need financial help as well? How can we help our friend, but also help others? The answer—Develop an organization that will honor Kit’s strength and keep his fight alive by helping families during their fight. Through our fundraising efforts the foundation seeks to financially support as many families as possible within the Chicagoland area during their battle against brain cancer. The work of the foundation will allow Kit’s legacy to inspire others the way he inspired us.

I’m so honored that a friend believed in me enough to encourage me to enter this. Truthfully, every mom I know is a supermom, and I feel like we’re all in this together, doing our best every single day.

For years, I’ve focused on giving back and helping others through our charity in my husband’s honor. This opportunity isn’t just about me, it’s about showing my kids what can happen when you lead with love, keep going through the hard moments, and never lose sight of helping others.

If you feel inspired to support me, your vote would mean so much to our family. ❤️ Thank you for always lifting us up and being part of our journey!

Harley Helping Hands has been providing financial grants to Chicago area brain cancer fighters for 17 years. In Kit Harley’s honor HHH has filled over $875,000 in financial grants. Beacuase of so many generous supporters like you we are not stopping anytime soon.

We are currently looking for a kind and talented individual who may be willing to help us redesign our website, create a new logo, and assist with some marketing materials. Since we’re a nonprofit, this would be on a volunteer basis—but your support would make a huge difference in helping us continue our mission.

If you or someone you know might be interested in donating their time and skills, we would be incredibly grateful. Please message me—we’d love to connect! Thank you for always supporting our work. ❤️

When I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, my life changed instantly. Along with the fear and uncertainty surrounding my health, the financial stress quickly became overwhelming. I was worried not only for myself but my wife and 3 year old daughter as well. It was one of the most difficult moments I have ever faced.

Harley Helping Hands stepped in during that time and made a meaningful difference for my family and I. The grant I received lifted a burden we did not know how we were going to manage. It allowed me to focus on treatment, healing, and being present with my wife and daughter instead of worrying about finances.

I am deeply grateful for the compassion, generosity, and support from Harley Helping Hands. What you do truly matters. Your kindness provided relief and hope during a time when we needed it most. Thank you for standing with us and for the work you continue to do for others facing similar challenges. -William

Merry and Blessed Christmas and thank you all for helping my mom, Anna, and our family! And thank you, Kit, for leaving such a powerful legacy and for changing the lives of so many! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
The financial support from Harley Helping Hands in 2025, along with the indescribable care, dedication, and engagement of everyone involved in the organization, made it possible for us to cover a significant portion of the expenses for my mom’s hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). This therapy was approved by her oncologist as a complementary treatment to chemotherapy, but it is not covered by insurance, as it is still not considered a standard of care. Twenty-two months after her diagnosis with glioblastoma (wild type, methylated, inoperable, and not treatable with radiation), my mom—who turned 80 in July —is doing well. Once again, she is proving that with the Lord, all things are possible. We are deeply thankful and blessed that God is guiding us on the path toward her healing and that He brought Gretchen and the rest of the team into our lives. We believe that the miracle unfolding in my mom’s life will help other patients and their families hold on to their faith and strengthen their hope. God is great, and may He bless each and every one of you!
Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy, and Blessed New Year!

With deepest gratitude,
Gergana Labova and family
