The curtain is rising on Loyola University Chicago’s fall production of Tartuffe by Molière!

Get ready for an entertaining evening of wit, hypocrisy, and hilarious twists as this timeless comedy comes to life on stage.

Moliere’s "Tartuffe" is a five-act comedy satirizing religious hypocrisy, where the charlatan Tartuffe frauds the gullible Orgon by faking piety, seizing control of his home, fortune, and family.

One year ago, the planter at Sheridan, Devon and Broadway was overgrown, blocked visibility and presented severe maintenance challenges. Today, thanks to a partnership between Loyola and the City of Chicago’s Department of Transportation, it features a new irrigation system, native landscaping, lower growing plants for improved sight lines, and a newly installed concrete barrier to prevent mud run off. Loyola’s continuing maintenance will ensure it continues to be an attractive gateway. Small improvements can make a huge difference!

Illinois needs nurses — and Loyola is helping prepare the next generation. 🩺❤️

This fall, 396 first-year students entered Loyola as declared nursing majors — 111 more than last year.

That growth comes at an important time: more than half of Illinois’ registered nurses are over age 55, and one-third plan to retire within the next five years.

As demand for skilled nurses continues to grow, Loyola is expanding the pipeline of future healthcare professionals ready to serve communities across Illinois and beyond.

🗣🗣Community Voices Help Shape Loyola's Future!

More than 500 community members participated in Loyola's Campus Planning Survey, sharing ideas about safety, transportation, housing, green space, economic vitality, and community access. Building on the university's 2024 engagement process, respondents affirmed the importance of ongoing dialogue while encouraging greater transparency and collaboration. The survey results help guide Loyola's campus planning efforts and reinforce the university's commitment to listening, partnership, and responsible stewardship as a neighbor in Rogers Park and Edgewater.

🚨 Notice: Drone Light Show is Coming🚨
Loyola will host its first drone light show during Family Weekend on Saturday, Sept. 26 (weather permitting). The approximately 500-drone display will take place over East Quad and may be visible from portions of the surrounding neighborhood.

Unlike traditional fireworks, drone shows are quiet, producing only a light buzzing sound, and do not include explosive effects. The drones will fly between approximately 100 and 400 feet above campus and will remain over Loyola property. No street closures are expected.

We are sharing this information in advance so neighbors who notice the display can know what to expect. Many residents may remember Loyola's former New Year's Fest fireworks celebrations; this drone show offers a new way to celebrate a special campus occasion while minimizing noise and neighborhood impacts
