What does it mean to bring a life of service into the work of spiritual care?
For Samra Ali, that calling has unfolded across education, nonprofit leadership, advocacy, and now chaplaincy. Over the past fifteen years, she has helped strengthen Islamic education in North Texas, supported survivors of domestic violence through her work with the Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation, and contributed to organizations committed to building stronger, more compassionate communities.
As a graduate of Bayan’s Master of Divinity in Islamic Chaplaincy program, Samra brings this breadth of experience into her work at Children’s Health, where she supports the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care team. Grounded in Islamic chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Education, her approach reflects a commitment to holistic care—meeting people with presence, compassion, and respect in moments of vulnerability.
Her leadership also extends to Havenly Treats, where she has served in board leadership focused on governance, strategy, and organizational growth.
Across each chapter of her journey, Samra’s work reflects a consistent commitment: to create spaces of dignity, belonging, and care, and to translate knowledge and leadership into meaningful service to others.
