On Tuesday, November 7th, 2023, close to 500 friends of the island of Ireland gathered to celebrate The Ireland Funds 39th Annual Chicago Dinner. The Ireland Funds welcomed Amb. Geraldine Byrne Nason, Ireland’s Ambassador to the United States, who spoke about the special relationship between Ireland and the United States.

Abbott received The Ireland Funds Corporate Social Responsibility Award, accepted by its Chairman and CEO, Robert B. Ford. He announced the establishment of an Abbott No Mind Left Behind Scholarship program for students in County Kilkenny, where Abbott is building their new factory.

Matt Moore of Chicago Cut Steakhouse received The Ireland Funds Leadership Award. Matt spoke about his journey from Ireland to the United States and said, “I am proud to be part of this incredible global network that works hard to support Irish-related causes around the world.’’

Special performer for the evening, Irish singer, Tolü Makay entertained those gathered.

The Ireland Funds was delighted to gather supporters and friends who had traveled from all over the US to Dublin for the Notre Dame vs. Navy Aer Lingus College Football Classic

We welcomed Ambassador Cronin; Ambassador Byrne Nason; US Congressmen and Representatives; former Taoiseach Enda Kenny; Jayne Brady, Head of Northern Ireland Civil Service; and members of The Ireland Funds Board in Ireland.

Kylemore Abbey spoke about the support The Ireland Funds has provided this outstanding Irish heritage site in County Galway.

The Ireland Funds is proud to announce that, through our Heart of the Community Fund 2022 grant round, we have awarded grants totalling $1,000,000 to organizations spanning 23 counties across the island of Ireland, North and South.

We were blown away by the innovation, determination and commitment detailed in the applications. This just highlights the dedication of so many services offering support to their communities in order to help them thrive. We look forward to watching the impact of this funding unfold in 2023 and beyond.
